In this experiment, the focus was to test the theory that growing plants in hydroponics is better than soil. We grew ten Kentucky Wonder Brown pole bean seedlings in a pot of soil. Five were transplanted into a homemade hydroponic system, and the other five into another pot of soil. Both received equal amounts of sunlight. The height, colour, and growth rate was collected and compared for 20 days. Using this data, we concluded that growing plants in soil is better than the hydroponic system (for a smaller production area, i.e. home).
