Each year Vancouver receives lots of rain. What if we can use that power?
We decided to test rain generation by building a waterwheel, attaching the waterwheel to a motor, and placing the waterwheel under a mock gutter. We simulated rain coming down the mock gutter and measured the watts our device produced.
Unfortunately, our device only produced a peak power of 1.6 watts, not nearly comparable to some other renewable energies, but the important thing is that the power can be stored.
