Our project develops around the ideas antiangiogenesis and GMOs. Antiangiogenic agents are inhibitors of blood vessels that "feed" tumours. Foods, natural agents, have varying potencies of different antiangiogenic properties. We wondered if there is a difference in the antiangiogenic property, lycopene, between GM and Organic Roma tomatoes and we thought GMOs would have higher levels. However, our results suggest that Organic tomatoes have higher lycopene levels. Thus, our data didn't support our hypothesis. Our main possible source of error was that we couldn't control how or the environment that the tomatoes were grown in.
