More Plants = More Electricity?

Recent studies showed that carbon dioxide harvested from waste have produced inexpensive electricity, however, this is not considered a truly renewable energy technology. Plants release carbon dioxide by the process of cellular respiration. If harvesting carbon dioxide from living plants can be commercialized, it will help reduce our reliance on fossil fuels. I am interested to know if more plants really mean more electricity. In my experiment, my voltaic cell confirmed that there was an increase in current (in micro amps) among my subjects (a total 6 plants). Therefore I can conclude that more plants do produce more electricity.
