The purpose of our experiment was to test if younger individuals would have better hearing accuracy than older individuals. We hypothesized that musicians (2+years playing an instrument) could detect different frequencies better. We used four sets of sawtooth waves; one sound in each set was pitched differently. Our data partially supported our hypothesis. We looked at two different aspects, age and musical experience. The oldest had the best results. However the musician’s results showed better performance in all age groups. We concluded aging's effect on hearing doesn't impact one as much as musical experience can in improving hearing accuracy.
