The objective of the project is to study the effect of UVA light (380 nm) on the healing time of skin fibroblast cells. Since fibroblasts play a critical role in wound healing, the project investigates the impact of UVA on fibroblasts and will validate the improvements mediated by a UVA-blocking wound care technology. The hypothesis for this experiment was: "UV irradiated fibroblasts will have a lower wound healing/coverage rate as a result of increased Reactive Oxygen Species production. Treatment with antioxidants will prevent the effects of UV light."
