In my project I tested the affects of ethylene gas on the ripening of fruit. I also tested to see if temperature affected the production of ethylene gas. I used 24 plastic bags and in each bag I put a pear, in 12 of those 24 bags I also put a banana. I put 4 of each type of bag at three different temperatures, (room temperature, outside and in the fridge.) I recorded visual observations and the temperature throughout three days. After the three days I tested the ripeness of the fruit with an Iodine solution.
