This science fair experiment tested the strength of dry non-treated hair to hair treated with chemicals such as hair dye, hair gel, chlorinated pool water and hair spray. After treating each single strand of hair in the different chemicals, the strands of hair were attached to a stand and a weight of 95 grams was fastened. The hair was then measured for the length of stretch from the weights to determine its strength. It was identified that normal untreated hair was definitely stronger than treated hair. Though it was definitely stronger, each product had its own diverse effect of hair.
