Our project is based on bridge designs and their failure. Our purpose was to learn if a trestle bridge or cable-stayed bridge would last longer and hold more weight. Our hypothesis is that when we add 1 kg of weight every 3 minutes, that the cable-stayed would hold more weight and stronger. We built our bridges out of wood, and glue and tested them with our hypothesis. Our conclusion was that the cable-stayed bridge held more weight and for a longer time. The trestle bridge represents London Bridge and the cable-stayed bridge represents the Alex Fraser.
